The files found by the program are displayed either by folder, or by their type. The files that are in good condition can also be previewed. Extra information is usually available. The original file's size, the resolution of pictures, or the list of files from an archive is sometimes shown. Each file has a checkbox next to it, so you can choose which files you want to save. The recovered files can be saved to a folder on your hard disk or to a CD or DVD disc.

How RepairDisk Manager Works

RepairDisk Manager consists of three main pieces:

· RDM Console - the RDM Console is the main application which governs when, where and how often emergency repair files are created and backed up for all computers in your network. This is the visible user interface.

· RDM Agent - the RDM Agent is deployed to each computer and creates and locally stores the emergency repair files. The Agent performs all client side operations.

· RDM Scheduler - the RDM Scheduler records user account information to allow the emergency repair file generation process to be safely scheduled in accordance with the NT security model.

Once you have established when and how often the repair disk process should be executed using the RDM Console, the RDM Scheduler stores the information and deploys the RDM Agent
to the designated computers at the required time. The RDM Agent performs all client side operations (i.e., creates emergency repair files on the target computer) and notifies the RDM Console. The RDM Console then retrieves and stores the emergency repair files.

Here are some key features of "RepairDisk Manager":

· Automating Repair Disk Management
Although Microsoft recommends the creation of emergency repair disks whenever a significant change is made to the hardware or software in a Windows NT/2000/2003 system, the disks rarely are made. This is typically because it is a manual process that is extremely time-consuming for an enterprise. It requires Microsoft's RDISK (for Windows NT) or Backup (for Windows 2000/2003) utilities to be run on each computer, and a separate disk used and maintained for each computer.
